MOEBIUS (May 8th, 1938 – March 10th, 2012)

[I know im late but i wanted to give the man a proper post]

Arzach was the very first comic i'd ever read that wasnt full of superheroes.

Back when i was a kid my friend kenneth would bring over issues of Heavy Metal magazine, which i wasnt allowed to have or read. The magics inside were like comics, but they were full of craziness and violence and aliens and monsters and drugs and naked girls. Fantasy. Magic. Otherworldly adventures. I'd never seen anything like it, it blew my fucking mind apart all over the walls.

This marks the passing of one of the most influential comic artists of our lifetimes, and without a doubt one of the reasons i draw to this day. his work is so mindblowing and beautiful, his grasp of psychedelic perspectives and lineworks and the dreamworlds he created will never be forgotten.

The man was a god, he influenced our influences.

Think about that.

Clearing the dust

Hello meatbags, this is [bonesandrobots]

The ships been on autopilot for a while as weve been sorting through life lessons and the thickest muck we could find, people coming, people going, people dying, people birthing, all sorts of change, but still little coin for so much change.

Back to roots my children, weve taken back to the lab; myself, the theorist and mux. its been neglected for so long, the concrete floor is damp and there are cobwebs on everything. the air smells of dirt and rust and old rancid paint. Its dark and thick, but mux is fantastic with mecha, and will have it back in no time im sure.

We had a meeting and almost decided to disassemble the whole place, but its time for new projects without distractions and to move out into the darkness and bring forth light that isnt yet there.

Ive been sending messenger owls out to fellow illustrators and makers and gods, friendly and unfriendly alike, and already the owls are coming back with responses. This is good news.

Starting today, i am pleased to announce the beginning of INKFLOW II.

It will be bigger and better than the other Inkflows, and the sum of all books with a [bonesandrobots] stamp thus far. Ive quickly set up an extra page here for it, which will have an artist list and other sorts of updates, so stay tuned.

Heres a video to get a feeling of what has transpired here in the fortress in the last few months.

Its been emotional.

now then.

forward.

adventuretime!

my cousin hannah has been completely in love with this show since it came out, and she fiiinally got me to start watching it.

its fun, otherworldly, absurd, amazing, hilarious, magical, adorable, and rooted in rpg's. its like if the guys that did superjail got together with the guys that did chowder and made a show that paid homage about everything i loved growing up, and kept it one notch riiiight below completely insane.

its pretty much mathematical <3

walkabout

a guy drives his children(in full private school uniform) far out into the bush, blows up his car, and after shooting at them for a while, kills himself.

the children are suddenly left in the middle of the bush to fend for themselves. upon near death, they come across a young aboriginal boy in the midst of a walkabout, a right of passage for aborigine youth.

adventures ensue.
